The collaborative platform for cyclists, BiciZen, was awarded the BiciImpuls Prize in the category of innovation and research. The BiciImpuls prize, annually awarded by the regional planning agency, Area Metropolitana de Barcelona and sponsored by the company Movement, aims to recognized innovative work that supports and promotes bicycle mobility in the metropolitan region. The prize comes with € 3000 that will be used to support ongoing work with the platform.

BiciZen launched publicly in June 2023 and has gathered over 6000+ data points from cyclists who share their perspective on everyday cycling in their city. The project started with seed funding from the ECIU SMARTER program and in collaboration with researchers from the University of Aveiro, Tampere University, University of Twente and Dublin City University.
