Life in Poblenou is a research project studying long-term changes in use and behaviours at four sites in Poblenou, a neighbourhood of Barcelona. It started on 2018 with students who graduated from planning and landscape architecture. The objective of the project is to observe public life and analyze social cohesion thought different indicators.
Why Poblenou? Poblenou is a rellevant neightbourhood due to the changes that have been taking place during the last years. The recent development attracted new international residents who were disposed to pay higher rents, and are chasing the old-time residents away. The projects wants to study how might those changes reflect into the pedestrians patterns and use of public space.
You will be able to see us in the streets of Poblenou during the days 7,8,9 and 10 of Jule. The study will take place in different 4h intervals each day, you can contact us for more information or check the project here. The study areas are the following:
Rambla de Poblenou
Pere IV at Trullas
Mar Bella Skatepark
