Research from City Lab Barcelona was featured in the Barcelona newspaper El Periodico on October 12th.
New data coming out of City Lab Barcelona shows that while most on-street bike parking sites are not at capacity, in neighbourhoods such as Gràcia and the Old City (Ciutat Vella) there are many bike parking spots at capacity. Gràcia and Ciutat Vella (Old City) have the highest average occupancy rates. In Gracia, the average occupancy rate was 81% occupied, showing that most sites in Gràcia were close to capacity and several were over 100%. Ciutat Vella is the other neighbourhood with symptoms of an on-street bike parking problem, as it showed an average occupancy of 74%. The districts of Sant Marti, Eixample and Sants all show high use as well.
